Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge

We spend the whole afternoon driving around the refuge. We saw many birds, but not the massive flocks of wading birds such as spoonbills that we have seen in the past. I counted at least 38 species plus a few I couldn't identify.

We got to our campsite early, so we drove to a local refuge at a water-treatment plant. There we saw an amazing variety of birds as well as a few alligators.
